Songs

I don't know about you. But, I've definitely had my ups and down in regards to walking with God.  There have been times when I've felt like I was on a mountain top. On the other hand, there have been times when that valley was so low and the sand so quick that I thought I'd never make it.  And then, there have been times where it feels like I'm on a rollercoaster and the ups and downs are coming so fast it can make one's head spin.

These songs have been written at various times when I was on those highs.  Although they have also helped me through many lows. They are simple piano arrangements that might benefit you or a budding pianist you know.

Please note that only the first page of each song is visible here. However, your download will include the all the pages. If for some reason the download didn't work properly, send me an email at flomethegnome@gmail.com so I can send you the file.

1 Rock of My Salvation & Soul_Page_1.jpg

I was originally inspired to write Rock of My Salvation & Soul near the end of 2012 and remastered it in 2018.  The additions to the song were the intro and the final few versus which restate the Christian’s desire to give their heart completely to Jesus.  Moreover, it also reaffirms that the believer is choosing to build their life and future upon the Chief Cornerstone, whom is Jesus. It was first played publicly at the Country Church near my home on October 7, 2018.

This is an amazing song that in many respects is a prayer as well.  It allows a Follower of the Way to ask for basic gifts like grace, mercy and love to be abundant in daily life.  While I did not meet my goal to have it completed by the end of 2018, I did finish it in January of 2019.  In this, I am reminded that while I have my time schedule, God also has His. I pray that this song nourishes your soul, your family, and/or your congregation.

1 I'LL FOLLOW YOU_Page_1.jpg

I’LL FOLLOW YOU was one of the first songs that I was inspired to create.  I believe that it is a wonderful hymn that not only exemplifies what Jesus has done for a believer, but also, after being redeemed, how the believer now desires to walk in the light of God and strive to stay on that narrow path.  Furthermore, it doesn’t matter what time of day it is or what the weather is like the committed Christian is willing to follow Jesus through the darkest stormy night; take refuge in his loving embrace; and allow the radiance of Jesus to shine through the believer’s heart so that the believer may be equipped to point others to the way, the truth, and the life that Jesus has made available to them as well.

Praise the Lord, the unedited version, is a more upbeat song that helps you recall what Jesus has done while at the same time allowing you to sing mightily - Praise the Lord.  This is the unedited version in that it has five verses whereas the shorter version has four verses.  Both versions include the Praise the Lord chorus.  If you're looking for a new song that will encourage your congregation to stand up and praise the Lord, then please consider adding this song to your collection.

Prayer is the most powerful tool for a Christian and yet, it is often neglected.  Oh, to be like the penitent man in this song. To have such a strong continual connection with our loving Savior.  I know I don’t pray enough. But, I am thankful that the Holy Spirit is there to fill in the gaps. This song makes me think of an area in my Christian walk where I can strive to improve.  Remember, God is faithful and just and does answer every prayer.

I believe that A Penitent Man would be well suited for something like a men’s retreat.  This song would also be good for all churches but is probably best suited for those that enjoy more traditional hymns.
