The Gnikings Discovery

The Gnikings of the Gnorthern Isles were well renowned for their bravery and courage or outright brutality depending on which side of the fence you happened to hang your hat. Sages succinctly say that one bright sunshiny day in early summer, a Gniking Convoy set sail for the tropical Gniant Islands. As fate would have it, by the time they got there and finished their raiding, this happened to be smack dab in the midst of hurricane season. Thus upon their voyage home, they encountered a gnasty storm. Some ships were smashed and a few lives were lost. However, most of the Gnikings survived to tell the tale.

While many were rightfully sad due to the loss of their gnomies, they had astounding gnews that made many throw their pointed, horned hats into the air in triumph. For while the crates in their cargo holds full of tropical treasures were destroyed, the contents were not lost. Rather, they were all mixed together! Gnow whether or not you liked the Gnikings, one thing for sure was true, they never skimped on building fine crafts. And none of the liquid that became like gold to them, leaked out. Therefore, the Gnikings enjoyed this forthy brew throughout the remainder of their victorious voyage.

Gnomazingly, none of the sailors developed the dreadful Gnurvy sickness. Additionally, the dozen plus one sailors, for the Gnikings were a superstitious lot that never used the number 13, so the dozen plus one sailors that previously had it were quickly cured of all their Gnurvy ailments as well!

The Gnikings realized the potential of their discovery and bottled the remaining liquid for future voyages. Numerous times they returned to the Gniant Islands to replenish supplies. Eventually, they learned that trade was more profitable than raiding and began developing favorable relations with numerous gnomish lands including the Gniant Islands.

We now know that our health can be vastly improved from the consumption of a diet rich in Vitamin C. Therefore, from this day forward and forevermore, we can be grateful to the Gnikings for their coincidental discovery.
